Join Our Global Social!

Are you a degree candidate who lives outside of the Cambridge area? Wondering who your fellow scholars are? Have a chance to meet them at HESA’s Global Social. This event will take place on the online platform Zoom. All you need is a computer with a microphone and camera and you can meet your fellow classmates and HESA board members from anywhere in the world. Each student has the opportunity to speak for roughly three minutes and discuss a little about themselves. Moderated by HESA Director of Club Affairs Tracie Gordon.

 Work With HESA
Open Board Positions:

If you are interested in working with HESA in serving the Harvard Extension School student body the following positions are open:

  • Secretary
  • Photographer/Videographer
  • Graphic Designer 
  • Social Media
  • Deputy Directors – Interested in working with the HESA board members? Then this position is for you. The role of the Deputy Director is to support the elected director in the development and implementation of their tasks at hand. Currently the follow directors need deputies, Outreach, Club Affairs, Finance, Student Affairs, Website Technologies, and Communications.

We Need Members For:

  • Bylaw Committee

Revise the current constitution to reflect the Association in its current form. The committee will review the current constitution and make necessary changes on behalf of the Association. The committee will clean up the language and will make grammatical corrects. (Note: changes of the constitution will not be finalized without the final approval of the board.)

  • Swag Committee

Create gear that represents the Extension School and the Association. The committee will be responsible for designing and developing wearable and useable items for students. The committee will assess and evaluate the most desirable items and develop accordingly. The committee will be responsible for production and matching student demand.

  • Information Committee

Gathering qualitative data in Cambridge and neighboring towns and cities. The committee with compile information on logistical practicalities: Close neighborhoods to live, where to park, restaurants, bars, travel information, school items, etc. Once complied, the committee will place all the information in one online location.

  • Job Fair Committee

A week of events leading up to an on campus job fair for Extension students. The committee will be responsible for acquiring businesses, companies, and recruiters to fill booths. The committee will also be responsible for finding a location on or near campus to old the job fair. In addition to the job fair, the committee will seek a job coach to discuss resume building for an on campus/ online session. The committee will also set up a mock on campus/ online interview session.

  • Online Forum Committee

Website where students can congregate. The committee will be responsible for setting up the forum, finding ways to ensure it is only accessible to Extension School students, and monitoring it. The committee will develop a marketing strategy to engage students in joining and carrying discussions on the platform.
