Connecting our college community

In continuing to advance the mission of the Harvard Extension Student Association (HESA) to build and foster a strong sense of community among the school’s diverse student body, including our distance education students from around the world, HESA has begun a project to provide Harvard Extension School students with a platform for dynamic discussion online. Through this endeavor the organization aims to facilitate connections and encourage productive dialogue among its student members worldwide.

As we near the completion of this project, we ask the Harvard community for a helping hand. In order to provide students with an inclusive, respectful and safe forum, we need the ability to identify participants as being bona fide members by logging into the forum with the use of HarvardKey.

We need your help

HESA is looking for knowledgeable volunteer programmers to help us with HarvardKey integration for the student website online forum. If you have the necessary programming skills, product knowledge, and availability to work on this one-off project for a few weeks, then we hope you can help us.

HarvardKey Homepage MockupKnowledge requirements include:

  • CAS/SAML Authentication
  • CLI on a UNIX install
  • WordPress

The selected volunteers will be working closely with HESA and Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) to complete the project. Please forward your resume, along with a short note indicating your interest, to Colin Rudd at ChiefofStaff@hesa.dce.harvard.edu. Thank you.
